So on Tuesday night, my friends and I ended up attending all three events related to Chaand Raat — the moon sighting indicating the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal.

We browsed through a few stalls at SABA Center, drank saffron chai and then headed over to Fremont. The hookah lounge in Fremong was fogged up with smoke and the music was so loud that all of us had to huddle to hear what the other person was saying. Though there was a boba stall, none of us were feeling the vibes there or the purple lighting so we headed to the henna and chai event in Berkeley.

After eating the pistachio and walnut baklava at Milyar Cafe and networking with a few folks, we decided to record a skit, derived from ARY journalist Chand Nawab and beautifully performed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
