When Math Class Just Goes On And On

For the Muslim Writer's Collective 10-year anniversary, we were all required to perform a piece of poetry encompassing the theme of time. Initially, I wanted to write about going back into the past but because it felt cliched, I vouched to create a poem that contained elements of time, humor and nostalgia.


On the day of the event instead of reciting my poem, by popular demand, I ended up singing instead. Even though I enjoy singing and my performance was well-received, a part of me still yearned to recite that poem.
